Pooling Global Resources and Facilitating Innovation & Entrepreneurship—the Delegation Led by Li Hai, Director of the Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel Went to the UK to Participate in the Pitch@Palace Global 4.0

Participating entrepreneurs in the Pitch@Palace Global 4.0

On December 11 (local time), the Pitch@Palace Global 4.0 was officially launched in London, UK, where outstanding entrepreneurs from 62 countries and territories in 19 competition zones submitted entrepreneurship reports to global business leaders, professional scholars and investment institution representatives.

A number of guests attended the event, including Liu Xiaoming, Ambassador of China to the United Kingdom, and his wife Hu Pinghua, H.E. Mr. An Ngoc Tran, Ambassador of Vietnam to the United Kingdom, H.E. Ms Nomatemba Tambo, Ambassador of South Africa to the United Kingdom, Sir John Peace, Chairman of Midlands Engine, Chris Yang, Chinese Sponsor of the Pitch@Palace & Chairman of the Hampton Group, Li Hai, Director of the Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel, and Hai Wen, President of Peking University HSBC Business School.

The Pitch@Palace was founded by Prince Andrew, Duke of York in 2014 as a global innovation & entrepreneurship incubation non-profit platform, and becomes renowned around the globe. Since its inception, the Pitch@Palace has accumulatively provided support for 2,842 entrepreneurship projects and helped establish 32,315 effective value links. In April 2019, the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals first introduced Pitch@Palace China competition zone final into Shenzhen. Top three projects in China competition zone were selected from more than 30,000 innovation & entrepreneurship projects, including Zhuhai Resproly Bio Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Incus Company Limited and e-signature Hangzhou Timevale Information Technology Co., Ltd. for their technological breakthroughs in a number of frontier areas such as bio-pharmaceutical, audio processing technology and electronic signature and authentication. These projects fully demonstrated the upgraded progress and significant outcomes in China’s innovation & entrepreneurship efforts, and competed in global final in London, UK, together with other winners from competition zones around the globe.

On December 9 (local time), Director Li Hai and representative members of China Dream Team were invited to the Spencer House in London. Accompanied by Amanda Thirsk, Global Special Representative of Pitch@Palace, Bao Ling, Minister Counsellor for Economic & Commercial Affairs, Jiang Sunan, Minister Counsellor for Science and Technology Affairs of Chinese Embassy in the UK, they met with Liu Xiaoming, Ambassador of China to the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming said that the UK ranked the second around the globe in terms of the number of Nobel Laureates and the first in the world in terms of per capita number. The cooperation between China and the UK in science and technology boasts promising outlook, and it’s hoped that all parties can make a contribution to the economic cooperation between China and the UK by virtue of science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

On December 10 (local time), training camp of the final competition was held at the Hult International Business School, where outstanding participants from competition zones around the globe gathered together to listen to the entrepreneurship development stories of five countries and territories including ASEAN, Australia, Bahrain, China and South Korea, get a deep understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship environment around the globe and broaden international business horizon.
