The Cultural Feast & Celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival
Hosted by the Science, Technology, and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, and co-organized by Luohu District Science, Technology and Innovation Bureau, Guiyuan Sub-district Office of Luohu District, Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel, the “Dragon Boat Festival Celebration in Luohu · the Sci-Tech Innovation of Shenzhen”–High-level Foreign Experts’ Exchange Activity was concluded on the afternoon of June 20 in Luohu District. High-level foreign talents, from the United States, Italy, Russia, Thailand, and other countries, working in Shenzhen universities, scientific research institutions, and well-known enterprises participated in the activity to enjoy the beauty of Luohu District and celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival together.
The activity kicked off at the Shenzhen Jewelry Museum, where foreign talents immersed themselves in the charm of jewelry fashion design in the Greater Bay Area. With the interpretation of the jewelry industry development, all explored the stories behind each jewelry artwork, awed by the harmonious beauty of man and nature, as well as man and jewelry. Afterwards, at the viewing platform on 96/F of the Kingkey 100 Tower, the experts enjoyed the breathtaking panorama of Shenzhen and a glimpse of Hong Kong. They also praised Shenzhen for the miracle and achievements in China's urban development.
At the Service Center for the Party and the Mass of KingKey 100 Tower, foreign talents deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture by making sticky rice dumplings and sharing their skills, overwhelmed with joy and laughter. Making sticky rice dumplings is not only a legacy of traditional Chinese crafts but also a bridge of friendship between China and the rest of the world.
Deputy Director of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Commission of the Shenzhen Municipality and Director of the Shenzhen Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, Li Huilai, and Deputy District Mayor of the Luohu District People's Government, Feng Jian, extend a warm welcome to the foreign talents participating in this event. Vice Director Li Huilai stated that the Shenzhen Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs is the home for foreign experts working and living in Shenzhen. The Administration serves and cares for foreign experts in the city. The Dragon Boat Festival has been passed down for over 2,000 years, carrying the cultural heritage of the Chinese nation. Through this event, we hope that all foreign talents can have a close look at the rich cultural atmosphere and historical heritage of Luohu District, engage in more in-depth cultural exchanges and cooperation, find their groups to make friends and enjoy considerate services in Shenzhen, contributing jointly to promote Shenzhen's high-quality development.
