International Exchange of Professionals Academic Exchange with Canadian Medical Experts in Hebei Province Successfully Concludes
On May 27, the initiation meeting of “International Exchange of Professionals - Academic Exchange with Canadian Medical Experts in Hebei Province” and “Heartbeats from Shijiazhuang - China-Canada Symposium in Cardiovascular Diseases” were successfully held in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. Centered on cross-border academic exchange, the events aimed to jointly promote the medical development for the good of peoples’ lives.
The attendees of the initiation meeting included the delegates led by Lee Edward Errett, President of the Bethune Medical Development Association of Canada and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, relevant leaders from China Association for International Exchange of Personnel(CAIEP), Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel, Hebei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Shijiazhuang Science and Technology Bureau, Shijiazhuang Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau, and Health Commission of Shijiazhuang, as well as experts and professors from Shijiazhuang People’s Hospital, and medical professionals from hospitals and health centers in various counties (cities, districts) of Hebei Province, totaling about 200 participants.
In his speech, Lee Edward Errett highlighted that this academic exchange event served to bridge the gap in language and culture, thereby enhancing academic interaction. He expressed his hope that through more sharing and exchange opportunities in the future, both sides would learn from each other and jointly establish a deeper and more harmonious academic exchange platform. Ultimately, this collaboration would utilize the most advanced medical technology to provide patients with high-quality medical services.
Cai Rui, Director-General of the Overseas Representative Office of CAIEP, emphasized that this event not only served as an academic exchange platform, but also carried forward the spirit of internationalism and selfless dedication exemplified by Dr. Bethune. Director Cai hoped that both sides would deepen mutual cooperation and exchanges, collaborate to promote Dr. Bethune's internationalist ideals, facilitate the exchange of medical and scientific talents between China and Canada, and jointly write a new chapter in the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The “Heartbeats from Shijiazhuang - China-Canada Symposium in Cardiovascular Diseases” officially started following the initiation meeting. Scholars and experts shared insights and discussed topics related to the diagnoses and treatments of cardiovascular diseases. In the future, both sides will take solid actions, maintain close exchanges, open up new areas of development, establish cooperative hospitals, engage in technical exchanges, and set up training bases for medical practices, aiming to contribute more achievements regarding technological advancement, talent exchange, and mutual trust and understanding. Together, they will devote talents and efforts to protecting public health and building a healthy China.
