GDF 2025 Concludes with Resounding Success in Shenzhen

Hosted by the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel (CAIEP), organized by the Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Professionals (SCIEP), and supported by the Nanshan District Talent Work Bureau, the 2025 Green Development Forum concluded with resounding success in Shenzhen. Tao QIN, Deputy Director of CAIEP, delivered an opening speech, Ton Bisseling, Professor of Wageningen University and Research Centre, delivered a video speech, and Hai LI, Director of SCIEP, moderated the opening ceremony. Witnessed by all guests and participants, the China-Europe Green Technology Industry Alliance was officially inaugurated. In the following two roundtable discussions, 10 Chinese and foreign experts, scholars, and young talents engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics regarding How Young Personnel Can Thrive in Scientific Research, and How Can Young Overseas Personnel Facilitate International Exchange and Cooperation in the Green Industry.

15 international experts and scholars from the U.S., the UK, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Portugal, and Singapore attended. Centering on the topic of green development, three thematic sessions were conducted with focus on biomedicine and intelligent health, materials engineering and energy technology, and artificial intelligence and information computing. Nearly 200 participants, including government representatives, university scholars, overseas students, research institution experts, and innovative enterprise representatives actively conducted extensive discussions and exchanges with domestic and international experts. Policy briefings were introduced by 10 institutions, including the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, Suzhou Laboratory, Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hunan University, Xidian University, Shenzhen University, Shandong University, and the Nanshan District Talent Bureau.

João Gama, Professor of Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, Portugal, and James M. Flanagan, Professor of Imperial College London, United Kingdom and Director of MRes Cancer Biology, visited Shenzhen Second Foreign Languages School, and delivered an engaging science popularization lecture, inspiring students' enthusiasm for scientific research. Meanwhile, some Chinese and international guests conducted field research at leading innovative enterprises including Tencent.
