The Fifth Forum on Scientific and Technological Innovation Underpinning Rural Revitalization Concluded in Changsha

On September 19-20, the Fifth Forum on Scientific and Technological Innovation Underpinning Rural Revitalization, hosted by the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel and the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province, and organized by Yuelushan Laboratory, Hunan Agricultural University, Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel, was successfully convened in Changsha. Cao Zhiqiang, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, Wu Cheng, Deputy Director of China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, and Zou Xuexiao, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of Hunan Agricultural University, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Li Zhijian, Secretary of Leading Party Members’ Group of Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province. 

The Forum brought together 15 experts and scholars from Australia, Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands, Japan and other countries, who delivered academic exchanges focusing on frontier technologies in modern bio-breeding, sci-tech innovation and sustainable agriculture, intelligent agriculture equipment and deep processing technology of agricultural products, as well as AI empowering the development of modern agricultural industry. Nearly 200 participants from domestic and international universities, research institutions, enterprises, innovation platforms, and overseas students had in-depth discussions with Chinese and international experts. Selected guests also conducted on-site visits at Yuelushan Laboratory and participated in campus science popularization lectures themed Cultivation of Scientific Spirit and Cognition.

Since 2021, the Forum on Scientific and Technological Innovation Underpinning Rural Revitalization has been successfully held for five consecutive years. These events have not only promoted international scientific and technological exchange and cooperation, but also facilitated the application of scientific and technological innovations in rural revitalization. Moving forward, we will continue to deepen international cooperation and exchanges, enhance our capacity to serve rural revitalization, and contribute further to innovation and development in agricultural science and technology.
