Joyous Bay Area · Vibrant Bao'an A Cultural Appreciation Tour
With the aim to foster an inclusive and multicultural cultural atmosphere, cultivate an excellent and convenient living environment, enrich the cultural and sports lives of foreign experts, and build a platform for exchange and mutual learning in Bao'an District, the Joyous Bay Area · Vibrant Bao'an city experience and cultural appreciation tour for international talents, hosted by the Bao'an District Human Resources Service Center, and organized by the Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel (SCIEP), is scheduled to be held on the afternoon of December 5, 2025 (Friday).
This tour will guide participants through two distinctive cultural experiences in Bao'an District: a traditional Baduanjin wellness session and a sightseeing trip on the "Bay Glory" Ferries Wheel. Through this dual experience of both tradition and modernity, participants will deeply appreciate the charm of Chinese wellness culture, as well as the urban landscape and dynamic development of Bao'an District and the Greater Bay Area.
1. Baduanjin
Baduanjin, also known as Eight Pieces of Brocade, is a time-honored form of Chinese traditional exercise. It originated from ancient Taoist and Qigong practices and has a history of more than 800 years, which can be traced back to the Northern Song Dynasty. This gentle yet powerful routine is composed of eight flowing movements. Each movement is designed to cultivate inner strength, improve flexibility, and regulate the flow of Qi throughout the body. The name "Baduanjin" itself holds profound meaning. "Ba" refers to the eight movements, while "Duanjin" roughly means "the essence of regulating the sinews".
Baduanjin doesn't demand much space or time and requires no special equipment. By combining slow, controlled movements with deep breathing and mental focus, it is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Regular practice of Baduanjin is believed to bring numerous health benefits, such as improving cardiovascular function, enhancing muscle strength, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting sleep quality. It is not only a set of exercise routines, but also a journey towards better physical and mental health.
2. "Bay Glory" Ferries Wheel

Event overview
Gather at Linhai Station Exit B2 and proceed to the seaview platform at OH BAY for the Baduanjin experience. Following the session, the group will board the "Bay Glory" Ferris Wheel together. The return journey is scheduled for around 17:15.

• This event is tailored for foreign professionals working or residing in Shenzhen.
• Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration closes at 17:00 on December 2.
