2026 Overseas Youth Sci-Tech Talents Nanshan Tour Successfully Concludes

On June 17, 2026, the 2026 Overseas Youth Sci-Tech Talents Nanshan Tour, hosted by the Organization Department of CPC Nanshan District Committee (Nanshan District Talent Affairs Bureau), organized by Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel (SCIEP), successfully concluded. The event brought together nearly 60 overseas youth sci-tech talents from 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Singapore. The event featured site visits, policy briefings, and panel discussions, offering a multifaceted and comprehensive presentation of Nanshan District's robust sci-tech innovation ecosystem and vast developmental prospects.

The morning session commenced with a visit to the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), where participants were briefed on the institute's development history and talent cultivation pathways, followed by a laboratory tour. Subsequently, the delegation proceeded to the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HIT Shenzhen), exploring its university history museum and laboratories, and immersing themselves in the campus's modern ambiance characterized by deep industry-academia-research integration and a vibrant culture of sci-tech innovation.

Policy Incentives Attracting Global Talents

In the afternoon, at the Xili Lake Talent Service Center, relevant officials from Nanshan District's competent authorities delivered presentations on the District's talent development policies and environment, encompassing a range of incentive measures such as settlement subsidies, housing guarantees, research funding, and entrepreneurial support. The overseas participants exhibited keen interest in Shenzhen's talent attraction policies. One postdoctoral researcher remarked, "Shenzhen's investment in scientific research and its policy support framework are truly impressive. The incentive programs specifically designed for young researchers are particularly compelling."

Technology Giants Demonstrating Innovation Prowess

The delegation visited the Shenzhen Nanshan Intelligence Valley Robotics Exhibition Hall, gaining first-hand insight into the city's latest advancements in intelligent manufacturing and robotics technology. Live demonstrations of various industrial and service robots drew considerable interest from the overseas talents.

The final stop was the Tencent's Binhai Headquarters, where participants delved into Tencent's cutting-edge explorations in AI, big data, and cloud computing. During the visit, they had the opportunity to experience Tencent's latest technological achievements, including human-computer interaction and virtual reality applications. The speed of innovation and the application capabilities demonstrated by Shenzhen's technology enterprises drew widespread admiration.

Nanshan District is rapidly emerging as a premier destination for youth sci-tech talents from around the world to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship. It is hoped that more overseas talents will be drawn to visit, understand, and choose Nanshan District as their platform for growth. Looking ahead, SCIEP will continue to organize such events nationwide, building bridges between innovative platforms and talents.
